But this one wasn't medical--it was with my financial manager. She spent the day in Slidell, seeing her Slidell area clients.

We had a nice chat--not only about my investments, but other things as well. Along the way I told her about Earthwatch--a conservation project outfit. I spent three summers in Romania digging up a Roman fort, and then the ill-fated trip in late 2005 to Kenya.

Not only did the expeditions sound a lot more interesting than just touring, but I mentioned that the costs were tax-deductible. She really perked up at that, and wrote down the name of the outfit, with thoughts of taking her early teenaged daughter on one. Educational, useful, different, and tax deductible.

That took care of the morning. After lunch I went up to WalMart to get what I had started out to get yesterday, but got sidetracked by the downpour.

And I forgot to get another fan or two.

I took care of that matter about mid-afternoon, getting two fans while I was at Walgreen's picking up a prescription.

Home again, put one of the fans together, and am very happy with its output and very low noise level.

On my was to Walgreen's I mailed off a book to a California friend. I finally finished Gibbon's Decline and Fall.

I don't think I have any other appointments of whatever nature scheduled for this week.

Thank goodness.

I don't think I'll be up too late this evening--feeling really tired.
