I subscribe to the local Freecycle on-line newsletter. Every once in a while I see somebody looking for something I have lying around.

The other day there was a request for a Coleman stove. And I recognized the name of the person seeking. It was someone I'd taught to swim years ago.

Since I had a Coleman stove in my garage (somewhere) I e-mailed him. This afternoon he came out to get it. He had to do some climbing, since it was high up in the garage, but he figured it was worth it. And he took the lantern also.

He went away happy, and I have two fewer pieces of "stuff" in the garage.

Needless to say, I would not have recognized him if I'd run into him on the street. 30-some years do bring about changes.

But it was nice to see him, and he and his family will be able to make good use of the stove and lantern.

Other than that, it was an IUD.

It's FINAllY cooling down somewhat, and that means that I have a living blanket cuddled up to me at night. Spots has definitely read the kittycat book of How to Get a Human to Adopt You.

I suppose I should pick up something at the store just in case somebody decides to visit tomorrow.

I hate the term Trick or Treat--it sounds like blackmail. When I was a kid it was "going beggin" and asking "do you have anything for Hallowe'en?"

And when do we change clocks?
