What activity?

Well, try making a left turn on a VERY busy street, WHILE YOUR LIGHT IS RED.

But when there is a police car behind you, with lights and sirens going full blast, you take a deep breath, check that nobody is in your way, and whip around that turn.

It looked like the traffic in the three lanes I'd be crossing were all paying attention to the sirens, and waited patiently.

Other than that, it was the usual IUD.

Maybe tomorrow's paper will have a report on the incident. Probably a game of crinkle-fender down by the interstate on/off ramps. And probably as "normal" as one can expect from coming-home traffic.

Other than that, the day was boring as usual.

I had started reading The Spirit Thief a while ago, but hadn't gotten very far.

I took the book with me for Arby-reading and I think I'm far enough into it to want need to keep reading. We'll see how dull tonight's TV is.

Here it is Tuesday and I still haven't bought any gifts. By the time Anna got the hand-me-down books from Myra and Winston (one of whom is in college, the other in high school) she probably has almost enough to set up a library. I'll be on the lookout, however, for something new to add to her collection. Only problem is that Slidell doesn't have a decent book store. The chain one in the mall isn't very good, and anyway the mall is not handicapped friendly.

Maybe I'll drive up to the B & N in Mandeville--it's on the Slidell end of town and very well organized.

So, another day gone by--an almost IUD except for the police car behind me that more or less "suggested" that I run a red light.
