The 10 PM news showed the bonfires on the levees upriver a bit burning brightly. Why? To light the way for Papa Noel.
The people spend several weeks building these tall towers, and on Xmas Eve they get lit.
It's a long-time tradition. It's a bit far to drive over and see, but maybe one year I'll do it.
