Dull not only in activity level, but also in weather.

It didn't rain (as of 1900) but it was moderately overcast all day.

Nothing much of great interest in the mail.

In late afternoon I went out to the WalMart area to get gas, and then see if Sam's Club had gigantic packages of the cats' favorite crunchies.

Sam's did not. Darn. They also didn't have any motorized carts available at the time, so I did very little wandering around the store.

So it was over to WalMart, stopping for gas between the stores. I found what I needed there, so that made for moderate success on the "outing."

And then I headed back home.

Tomorrow will probably have some rain in it, so I'll pass on going into N.O. Anyway, it is still between semesters. I do, however, plan to go in at least one day this week. After watching the evening news talk about all the Sugar Bowl fans in town, I think I'll wait till the latter part of the week.

I seem to remember that way back when I was heading into (legal) adulthood there were four major end-of-the-season bowl games--Rose, Orange, Sugar, and Cotton.

Anybody have any idea of just how many college bowls there are now?

Overall, the weather is a bit cooler, and Spots has made himself a warm nest curled up against me at night.

So now it's off to see what the TV has to offer. (Very little, I'm sure.)
