Yes, it's the beginning of February so time to change colors. Let's hope the upcoming month is as cheerful as the yellow.

Today is NOT a cheerful day for a large part of the country. Most of today the TV has had pretty frequent "updates" on the disgusting weather crossing the country. The s-word has even been used here in the south. (I am not talking about the synonym for excrement--but about about the white stuff that may or may not fall from the sky.)

And I gather from TV spots that driving on overpasses can be a challenge, what with gusty winds.

I had put my trash up front yesterday, so I didn't have to worry about that.

I had driven to the end of the driveway to have a shorter showery dash to retrieve mail and paper, and I got to chat a minute with my trash hauler. I told him I got a bit concerned when I saw someone else running his route, and he said it was his knees. I also reminded him that he hadn't collected his fee back in December. I told him I'd put it in the message box. (He's been hauling our trash for more than thirty years.)

So, it has definitely been an unremarkable day around here. And weather is a bit chilly and damp to the point where I don't feel like going out in it.

Unless the weather is incredibly wet and awful I do plan on going in to Newcomb tomorrow.

Cross fingers that it stays dry.
