I was puttering around in the den, trying to find a missing shoe. I have a tendency to tuck the shoes I take off at the end of the day under the couch where I sit.
But one shoe had not reappeared when I wanted to wear it, so desperate measures were called for--moving stuff and cleaning out under the couch. I did find the errant shoe, and reunited it with its mate. They are now under the bed (the regular shoe storage location) doing who knows what. Next was a prescription renewal, which I was all set to call in to be ready tomorrow about noon. And then it hit me. That area will be backed up with cars, trucks, tents, barbecues, etc. from mid-morning to late afternoon. Sane people do not try to buck parade traffic. So I called it in for 6 PM this evening. Well, that justifies going to Arby's for supper. (That's a plus.) Today has been an absolutely gorgeous day--pleasant temperature, sun, light breezes. The Mardi Gras visitors won't be thronging in for a couple of weeks. We are all hoping that the weather will stay like this. I just fed the cats--now I need to put out the possum kibble and then the raccoon biscuits. I usually wait till it's dark for the latter. (Do you think anyone reading this would actually go to a feed store and ask for possum kibble and raccoon biscuits?) It's only the little raccoons that are coming for food now. Mama has gone off for a much-needed vacation. Unless she runs into trouble, I'll probably see her again next year. I was messing around with my cell phone the other day--looking at the pictures--and next thing I knew my wallpaper had turned into a really cute little raccoon. If I'd tried to do that I would probably have been unsuccessful. Good thing I like the picture. I think I'll kill a little more time, then go eat at Arby's, and pick up my prescription on the way home. I think I told them 1830. (Incidentally, I have the AC on in the computer/bed/cat room.)
