I called my mechanic to ask for a referral for the stupid mirror. He said come on down and he'd check it out.

He'll do it, but the bad news is that it will need a whole new mechanism. (Beware the vagrant trash cans.)

Needless to say, that is not an off-the-shelf item.

So--I decided that driving on the interstate without a right side mirror would not show a geat deal of intelligence. Therefore I shall limit myself to the immediate area till the parts come in, etc. etc.

Guess my yard will get a bit of tending, if not the interior of my house.

I may call GEICO and see if a claim will up my insurance. I can't remember the last time I made a claim of any sort with them.

Of course, the cost of the repair will have to get figured in.

Oh well--something to occupy my mind.

Today's weather was absolutely gorgeous--warm, low humidity, gentle breezes, dry. Hope it stays like this while I'm stuck at home.
