In other words, standard southern summer.

I had sort of hoped my car would be done today, but it doesn't look that way.

And the last thing the mechanic needs is phone calls at the end of the day, asking if a car is ready. He is no doubt knocking himself out trying to get cars done.

I refused to expect it done today, so if it is I'll be surprised.

A guy came by about mid-morning to pick it up.

My cats are at their guard posts. Spots is near the head of the driveway in a shady spot. He frequently "guards" from there, and when I pull into the driveway he usually takes his sweet time moving out of the way of the car.

CC has begun guarding outside also. She tends to be near the edge of the woodsier part.

Spots can keep an eye on the critter visitors to the porch. He doesn't chase them or anything. I figure he has invited them. After all, he's found himself a cushy home, and even if the critters are not destined to become part of the household, nevertheless they can enjoy the food.

Let's hope tomorrow is the day my car comes home.
