My car is home and running very happily.

The mechanic called me with the good news, then came over to pick me up. (It's not very far.) It has a new alternator and some other stuff. And it runs just fine now.

About the time I got home it started to rain. How's that for propitious timing!!

I've got too much catching up to do to go in to work tomorrow--that will have to wait till Monday.

This afternoon I had the TV on when the channel switched to a live weather report. It seems that conditions were ripe for tornadic activity--and the northern part of the parish was being threatened. This happened shortly before I got the happy call from the mechanic. I had been planning on a couple of errands once I had my wheels back, but decided those could wait.

I don't think there was a touchdown--just some threats. But it's best to be cautious with those crazy storms. I'll hear more about the crazy weather on the 10 o'clock news.

Less than a month till I hit the big 3/4.
