I decided to take a chance on it not raining while I was in New Orleans--or at least when I was not inside a building.

I lost, but not disastrously.

Once it started sprinkling a bit after lunch I packed up my stuff and headed for the car. I do not feel particularly secure using a cane when it rains--it can very easily slip on a wet spot.

However, I had no problems, and got home just fine.

I did "detour" by WalMart to get a new windshield wiper to replace one that was acting persnickety, and the usual other stuff.

Tomorrow I shall read the instructions and replace the bad wiper. (Note the positive attitude--I don't think I've ever done that before, but I'm sure I've done a lot of things a lot more complex.)

I also plan to stay at home--I have a bunch of typing to do relative to the current collection.

The archivist was in her office today and I got to chat with her a bit--and tell her that I still enjoy the work that I'm doing. I guess I've been there about five years now.

My assorted critters all seem to be happy and friends with each other.

When I run out of other things to do I need to cut out some of the deadwood in various bushes and treelets. And then have a big bonfire to get rid of the stuff!

Now to check the weather guess for tomorrow.
