Translation: a VERY unremarkable day.
At least it didn't rain (yet). but rain is not necessarily a plus in Southern summers. Far too often it cools things down a few degrees, but raises the humidity, which pretty much cancels (offsets) the lower temperature. As you can imply from the title, it was a highly umremarkable day. I hope I realized it was Tuesday before the trash man came by. When I realized that today was Tuesday, I quickly got the trash bundled up and moved the container up to almost the end of the driveway. When I went out for some errands an hour or so ago, it seemed to be in the same position as I had left it. But--maybe he was using today to catch up with yesterday--when the dump would have been closed. I don't worry about it--the trash gets collected and disposed of, and a couple of times a year he knocks at my door for a check. I was sitting out on the porch in the early afternoon and my little friend came to see if I was putting out goodies. It was a bit early, but raccoon eyes can look really woebegone when they are begging food. So I refilled the raccoon chow dishes. Early. (I do not handfeed ANY wild critters.) When it gets a little darker I'll toss out the evening treat--raccoon biscuits. When I was in WalMart yesterday I remembered to get another bag of them. I meet a lot of people in the dog/cat food section who are buying food for creatures other than dogs and cats. I think raccoons must do pretty well around here. In the afternoon I caught up with assorted bills and payments, then headed out for an errand at Walgreen's and a swing past the post office to mail off those newly paid bills etc. Unless it is raining, I'll be going in to work tomorrow. I look forward to getting out of the the house and being where other people are. I e-mailed the archivist a couple of days ago, and am hoping that there are several cartons waiting for me. So tonight is definitely and early-to-bed one. That alarm clock goes off pretty early so that I can miss the worst of the inbound traffic and get a nearby parking spot.
