. . . some rain this evening.

Overcast doesn't do much for temps at night, but during the day it keeps them somewhat lower.

I'm crossing fingers re: the computer--it's been behaving somewhat spastically the past few days.

So far, today has been one of its more compliant days.

And--as usual it's been an IUD.

I did go out for supper (Arby's) and chatted some with one of the staff who is interested in YD's path to publication. I can't give him any magic path--that's outside of my limited fields of more-or-less expertise. Mostly I tell him to keep on writing---and reading.

I go to Arby's pretty much between late lunch and early supper time. It's nice and quiet and I generally get quite a bit of reading done.

And--when I am lucky--some interesting conversation.

(Cat just rolled over and is now taking up space where I prefer to put my keyboard. She also tail-flipped the tab key I think. I'm hoping I've got it all fixed. And I have relocated cat and put down some kitty treats as a distraction/consolation.)

I'm hoping the chance of rain comes through this evening--it will cool things down somewhat.

The regular raccoons are learning the "rules" around here. They wait outside the porch, put on their "I'm about to collapse from starvation" looks, and wait patiently till I distribute the dry food. And go inside.

A couple of them start for the food dishes as I am leaving.

Later in the evening I'll put out the "cookies"--generic dog biscuits which I scatter on the patio and nearby lawn.

I guess the cat and dog food agrees with their dietary needs--they look bright and perky. And in the spring there will be at least one mama dashing over for a quick meal before she goes back to her babies.

So far, so good re: computer behavior. I think I'll quit while I ahead and let it rest for a while.
