Weather is lousy, to say the least.
And there is little prospect of it improving in the near future. There's a low pressure system in the Gulf which has been dumping rain on us for most of the day. On the plus side--it's helping with a marsh fire which has been going on for about a week or more--and playing havoc with people with respiratory problems. On the minus side--all that precipitation is leading to possibly serious flooding. This morning both cats were on the (covered) patio when the rains returned. When I went to see if they wanted to come in, they'd both disappeared. Under the house works quite well as a shelter. And there may have been raccoons there to keep them company. When the cats got hungry (and the rain let up) they came inside. I think they're both still inside. About mid-afternoon I went out for some stuff from the drugstore--the key item of which was AAA batteries. The little clock (with an alarm) that I keep in the den had stopped. Naturally, that was the only size (more or less) battery NOT in the "battery bag." By the time I got back home it was raining again relatively seriously. I have a good-sized chunk of driveway in front of the house and I managed to position the car so I had only about two steps to get from the car dooor to under the patio cover. Fortunately, I don't think I have anywhere I HAVE to go tomorrow. And, as always, there is plenty to do inside the house besides read and nap. (This month's color scheme is Stormy Seas. How appropriate.) Read/Post Comments (7) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
