My Incredibly Unremarkable Life

(Well, the computer decided to let me post after all. Guess I'll erase the post that I tagged onto yesterday's comments.

(Hot Again/Still)

Today was hot again, and dry. However, it looks we'll be getting some substantial rain pretty soon. And it will be welcomed. There has been a fire burning in (relatively) nearby marshes for several days, and a heavy rain should be enough to finally put it out.

As usual, today has been yet another IUD. The only mildly unusual activity was when I tossed a couple of months' worth of newspapers into the pool. They'll slowly fall apart and join other sludge on the bottom. The turtles and frogs don't seem to mind.

The usual "guests" came for supper. Those raccoons are pretty smart--they have the routine down pat and wait till I put out the dry food before they come all the way onto the porch.

Later I'll toss out the raccoon cookies (aka dog biscuits).

The "wildlife" around here is well fed.

I'm hoping a rest overnight will cure whatever is acting up on the computer.
