There was a strong possibility of rain in the morning forecast, so I elected to stay home.

Once I had made that commitment, everything cleared up.

And that let me get a bunch of "this and that" taken care of--more or less.

So far, tomorrow looks a bit less likely, on the subject of rain.

I did mention WalMart and the Great Inventory?

The shelves have not all been restocked as before, at least in the cat food area. Their house brand in wet cat food has not returned to the shelves. And there is almost none of the name brand stuff available. I griped to someone about it today, and I gathered I am by no means the only person who has done this. If I get crashingly bored (or feel crashingly crabby) I might even write a letter.

(Drat--it's thundering outside, and the cat decided she wants to be closer to me. This translates as right up against the keyboard, where her tail can easily land on "delete" or something equally frustrating.)

My little striped friends have learned to wait till I put food dishes down before coming in on the porch. I talk to them quietly and they stay at a respectable distance.

This will be a short one--I just glanced at the clock, and I want to see the weather forecast for tomorrow, so I can find out if the weather will be decent enough to go to New Orleans.
