Another essentially uneventful day.

However, I discovered a slight mystery--the glass "shade" for one of my outside porch lights was on the ground. Not broken, but also not secured around one of the outside lights.

Guess I'll smile sweetly next time I see my neighbor and see if she (or her husband) can get it back in place. Probably one (or more) of the screws that hold the glass in place rotted/rusted out. It's really lucky it stayed in one piece. I'll make sure I have what is needed for the repair before I ask them.

It was another gorgeous fall day--moderate temperatures and low humidity. Tonight should be really good sleeping weather.

I just remembered that I haven't brought the mail in yet. Usually I go out somewhere, and stop at the end of the 150 ft. driveway to get the paper and the mail. I got the paper about noon, but the mail had not yet arrived. It's a couple of months now since the delivery time moved into mid-afternoon. They must have changed routes around--either that or the current mail carrier likes to sleep in. I doubt that there's anything in the mail that has even a modicum of urgency, but I should probably check anyway.

And I'm hoping that the truly miserable heat of last month is GONE.
