Okay--is Sunday the first day of the week, as calendars show, or is it the seventh day, as Scriptures suggest?
And when was this incongruity first noted? In fact, when did the concept of a "week" first appear? I know the month is tied to the lunar cycle, but where did the week come from. Whatever. I made it to church today, and afterwards got caught up in a couple of interesting conversations. When I finally got home I sort of let myself have a sinking spell, from which I awoke about the third quarter of the game between the Saints and Tampa Bay. The game is almost over, and I don't think the Saints will be able to pull it out. Maybe I'll get a nice surprise when I go back into the den. I've got an early doctor's appointment tomorrow, and I'm mentally backtracking from the appointment time (9 AM) to when I need to leave, and how long it will take me to get ready. A couple of the raccoons still come by for food, but the majority seem to have gone elsewhere. I'm sure I'll see the females in the spring, when they have little ones somewhere and need a reliable place for some quick food. Another IUD.
