Well, I took three small cartons of history-ish books to church with me, and set them out after the service.
The minister was still busy inside when congregation members spotted the books and swarmed all over them. I told the people I'd brought them for Rev. Melanie's library and I'd have to see if she was willing to share. She was, and they went like hotcakes. These are books from when I taught history, although quite a few are more or less single-topic volumes. I used them for my lectures to supplement and expand on the textbooks. I don't think I've ever seen a group of people get quite so excited about "geek" books before. Maybe because there were several relating to women's history? The rest of the day was relatively dull (as usual). I managed a short nap, and then did this and that while I watched football games. I plan on going in to work tomorrow, unless the weather is--or looks like it will be--wet. I haven't decided whether or not to root for rain.
