I thought for a few minutes that all the computer work had cancelled itself out. I couldn't get journal access again.

It didn't like my password.

I dug throught the assorted papers and found one with another password on it and was in luck--it worked.

Thank goodness!!

Today was definitely an IUD--for most of it.

Then the ladies that keep bringing a "dinner" over weekly appeared with another one.

The first couple were good, but they evidently discovered that a decent meal costs. For the last three or four weeks it's been a huge spaghetti portion, a couple of rolls, and one or two unidentifiable objects. Can you say carbs and fat.

When they first brought it by they said something about my church.

So this afternoon I called the church and they knew absolutely nothing about it, and suggested I bring it by.

Well, it was a relief to know that the church apparently wasn't spending money providing food for someone who is perfectly capable of buying/making her own.

I had a lovely visit with the person who takes care of the phone calls and is living in the rectory. (We have been without a regular minister since Katrina.) I had taken the food with me, and she agreed that it didn't look particularly palatable. I told her the raccoons in my area really liked it however, and since the church is also in an area with lots of raccoons she will no doubt take a few steps into the adjacent woods and let them eat spaghetti tonight.

She assured me there was no church money involved in this. She also suggested that I get a phone number next time they (the ladies--not the raccoons) show up on my doorstep. And I will.

So--a very pleasant afternoon.

The rest of this week needs to be devoted to house/yard stuff. Tulane is on break, so I'm staying on my side of the lake (except for the dr. appt. earlier this week) and need to get little stuff caught up.

The azaleas have just about peaked with their blooming. These azaleas have been around a while and are about 6 ft. tall and have a big spread.

Maybe I'll stop at a nursery tomorrow and ask for advice on trimming them a bit and yet not mess up next year's bloom. And maybe pick up another bush or two for other parts of the yard. Not necessarily azaleas, but something that likes to grow to fill in blank spaces along the fences.

So, another more or less IUD is about gone.
