I am reminded by the barrage of commercials that Easter is coming up tomorrow.

The commercials (of course) have little to do with Easter, but focus on spending money on clothes, candy, etc.

My church has asked that people bring several small cans of food.

The cans will be hidden on the grounds so that the Sunday Schoolers can go on a canned-food hunt, rather than look for hardboiled eggs that have likely cracked beyond ediblity. The canned goods found will go to the local food bank.

I mentioned that to someone in the grocery store and they thought it was a great idea.

I think the church is having a sort of pot luck after the service.

We have some absolutely gorgeous grounds that make a good setting for social events.

My next door neighbor came by earlier with a couple of Easter goodies. She mentioned that she had a slew of relatives etc. there for a big dinner.

As I've said before, they are on the opposite side from my bedroom and den. Even with the windows open almost any noise from there just doesn't make it to where I am settled.
