At least pre- and post- Easter are nowhere near as bad as pre- and post- Christmas.

There was a fairly good turnout at church.

The sermon was by a ministerial candidate, and she was quite good.

After the service there was a magnificent potluck dinner outside in one of the garden areas. One kind gentleman didn't even really ask, but went and brought back a full plate and a drink for me. Later he got a dessert also. Very nice of him, since managing a full plate of food AND a cane can get really tricky.

It was outside in our patio/garden, and we have a fair number of events there.

I don't know how, but somehow the conversation became centered on where those of us wanting cremation wanted our ashes scattered. Most of the people know that another congregation member has part ownership in a plane, and has scattered ashes a fair number of times. I told them that he'd taken me up to scatter my husband's ashes.

Come to think of it, talking about "after the passing" was not at all inappropriate for the day.

And then I went to start my car and it wouldn't. Battery was dead.

My fault--for some reason I had left the keys in the car, and apparently they were not in the off position.

I think the men that helped my were somewhat impressed that I carried jumper cables. (I would never drive around without them!) The car got started right away, and I headed on home.

The drive home was more than enough to recharge the battery--I went out on an errand a little while ago and everything was fine.

Overall, today was a very nice day.
