Yep--it's been that kind of day.
I got my request for extension all filled out, and then planned to head for the post office to mail it. B U T - - - my car decided to be tempermental. My usual "helper" was not yet back from somewhere, so I gave the neighbor on the other side a call. He and his kids have lived there for more than ten years, but we've never really had a conversation. Since his kids are now teenaged and driving boys, I figured they'd be a natural for help. And they were. The dad found a gap in the fence and came over, looked at and listened to the car, and then went back home to get some jumper cables to charge up the battery. I left it charging away. Probably the battery is trying to die. But at least I can (probably) get it boosted up enough to get to the car guy. (I hope.) That will be Monday's project. If it doesn't start in the morning I'll hook up the jumper cables again. A little bit ago I remembered last Sunday when my battery had gone dead. That was no doubt the first clue that it was "tired." I didn't get a whole lot else done today, what with being housebound for most of it. My estimated return is in a stamped envelope, waiting to be mailed. My neighbors on the other side got back from wherever late this afternoon. I'll get one of them to replace the burned out kitchen light. (I hope.) That's not at all urgent, but it definitely brightens up the kitchen area as a whole. It's the little stuff that eats away at one's time, and it's aggravating to have "little stuff" beginning to pile up. Hoping I'll be in a better mood tomorrow.
