Yes--a non-"regular" day courtesy of donating platelets.

Everything went fine, and it was a nice sociable time. By the time I finished, another person was donating platelets, and yet another was opting for a whole-blood donation.

And then there was a woman who went pale and almost fainted when the tech went to "hook her up." It's the first time I've ever seen someone go really pale.

She got herself out of it, and finished giving her pint. I had just about finished the drink and "snack" you're supposed to have before leaving when she finished her regular donation. She was somewhat embarassed by the slmost faint, but seemed just fine after the donation was complete. Apparently she was not a newcomer to donation.

I now have a tote bag that's waterproof and has a bunch of large pockets. The three of us who ended up together at the post-donation "refreshment" table all agreed that the bags were really nice.

And, of course, there was a tee shirt. Several months ago I gathered up all my "blood shirts" and put them in the drop box for the used-clothing shop. If someone doesn't want to advertise the Blood Center, he/she can wear the shirt inside out for gardening or other grubby work. (I think I managed to "forget" my shirt today.)

As usual, I have a bunch of stuff that needs typing for the archival work, and that will be done at home over the weekend.

And now for an evening of mindless TV.
