I had to get my body moving--or at least sort-of thinking--early today so as to be ready for an online "conference" with my fantastic money manager.

We had a good conversation, covering personal miscellany as well as financial stuff, and then I did Stuff around the house for a while.

Once I'd found all the furniture (it tends to get lost under stuff that gets tossed on it) and gotten things back to a state of semi-organization I went off on various errands.

WalMart was on the list--as I've said before I don't have huge amounts of extra storage space, so I really need weekly trips there for assorted critter food and other stuff.

Back home, I got the stuff put away, then succumbed to a modest sinking spell.

Coming out of the spell I realized that the critters were on the edge of starvation--if you could believe what they were saying. But it's hard to believe a critter is on the verge of starvation when its ribs are solidly padded.

Now I'm about ready to settle down and try to decide whether my sore toe is from a stubbing bruise, or if one of the various bones snapped. I'll splint it to the adjacent toes and see what happens, aside from making it a lot easier (more comfortable) to walk.

Never a dull moment.

When I got back home from the various erranding I decided to see how my friend in Alabama was doing. The storm of a day or so ago went right over where she lives, They were fortunate, and had no major damage. They're still getting rain off and on, while it's clear as anything here.

We mutually commiserated about the newspapers greatly reducing publication. The Mobile once-upon-a-time daily is also cutting back--like the New Orleans papers. I hope we can get together during the summer for one of our all-day lunches.

(And I hope my toe feels better tomorrow.)
