And it was an IUD.
Except, of course, when I couldn't find my bank credit card. I had looked all over the front area last night, but no sign of it. I looked again this afternoon, then headed to the bank to notify them. My car thinks that my credit card is filet mignon, and has "eaten" cards before. On those occasions I usually found the wayward card hiding under a seat, about half under carpet. So, I got out the flashlight and started looking. No luck. I went inside and changed into clothes slightly less disreputable than what I'd had on, since I was going to go inside a bank. I had a new person wait on me, and she cancelled the card. I thanked her and went back to the car. And there, on the seat, was the runaway card. I went back inside and cancelled the cancellation. And then headed out for the errands at last. The rest of the afternoon was boring and routine. The rest of the day has been I.U., as usual.
