The Leaf That Couldn't Fall

The leaf, green, couldn't fall.
Too mcuh to do, as it bathes
In the warmth of lines of gold.

The leaf, wet, couldn't fall.
Enjoying the smell of rain,
Too much at stake; held on.

The leaf, yellow, couldn't fall.
Hope, it says, will bring it on.
Longer and longer, the leaf stays yellow.

The leaf, crumpled, dry, alas
Fell. Too much; the leaf broke off.
It flew, and felw, and stopped.

It landed on the same tree,
On a different branch,
It couldn't fall.

I am extremely lost, extremely vexed. No one knows, no one comprehends. Tis' too much to handle.
