I have no patience for stupidity.

I also can't stand poor customer service. I worked retail for 10 years and I trained a LOT of people to be nice, even when they were in a grumpy mood.

So the other day I was in the grocery store. I get up to the checkout, and the nimrod at the register doesn't acknowledge me. He just starts mindlessly scanning my items.

Ok fine.

Then I give him my coupons. Here is where it got tricky. One of the coupons was for buy one get one free yogurt. So when he scanned it, it didn't take a dollar amount off, he had to manually enter the 69 cents that was supposed to come off.

But the jadrool just kept scanning the coupon over and over and over. I guess he thought that somehow by magic it would work if he scanned it in enough times.

Finally he gave up and just enterd 50 cents.

Normally, 19 cents would not bother me, but in this case, it sure did.

I said, "Uhhm the yogurt is 69 cents."

I get this deer in the headlight look and he said, "Oh it is?"

And that was it.

I was like, "Uuuh, yeah. You wanna take that extra 19 cents off?"

"I don't know how."

So he just stares at me again. It was like a showdown. Finally after 3 minutes he said, "Do you just want me to give you 19 cents?"

In my best New York Pissed Off Apathy voice I said, "Whatevuh"

So I get home and send an email to their corporate website.

Here is the shocking part - 4 hours later I got a phone call from the store manager apologizing. AND - he gave me a $10 gift card to use in the store.

Wow! I am going to complain about EVERYTHING now!
