I also outlined the rest of the book, not on a scene by scene level, but with a fair degree of specificity. I'm not entirely certain how the final resolution is going to work, but I've got the gist, and I can figure out the specific maneuvering of characters and sequence of events when the time comes. It's going quite well. New chapter titles are "Lord of Night" and "More or Less Than Human." Today had people getting stabbed in the kidneys, a meeting of sorcerers, violent confrontations, growing dissension in some ranks, chaos magic, a battle won with a whisper in the enemy's ear, and increasingly sentient mold. Heather and I cooked a lot, too -- turkey! Mashed potatoes! Stuffing! Crescent rolls! Green beans! Gravy! (The gravy actually came out well. It was lousy last year, but this year, I figured it out.) Then, a couple of hours later, we had pie and ice cream. We are festive! I'm going to write more tomorrow, naturally. I won't brave the terrors of shopping on Black Friday, sales or no. I might take a walk or something though, if the weather's nice. I barely left the house today. Our cats really, really like turkey. They only get it once or twice a year. They'll probably vomit it up, but hey, they're happy now, and I'm all about living in the moment. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
