Rainy Day

Ah, I love the post-issue lull at work! Time to catch up on all the non-critical work I've been neglecting. Vintage champagne and blue cheese to celebrate finishing the issue. Time to go out for lunch. Relative relaxation. Mmm.

There's a nice review of Hart & Boot & Other Stories up at SFRevu by Ernest Lilley. (Though in fact "Dream Engine" and "Impossible Dreams" aren't original to the collection... they would have been, but then, er, I sold them elsewhere before the book came out. The only original piece is "Komodo".)

Not much else to report. Some writing stuff is bubbling along -- submitting stories, signing contracts, etc. Still working on my epic fantasy infidelity story, which I should finish before the month ends. We sent off our tax forms today, so our tax prep guy can tell us how screwed we are (or aren't). That's the big source of anxiety hanging over my head at the moment. I'm fairly good at dealing with stress and complications, but I'm extremely bad at dealing with uncertainty. It makes me gnaw my cuticles and stare at the ceiling all night. But things never seems as dire in the morning, somehow, especially on a rainswept day like this, when the sun periodically pokes out of the clouds and makes everything glitter, glisten, shine.

Spring is coming. I like spring very much.
