Sunny Day

Sun came out today, and my, is it beautiful out there. It's a long slow Friday, very quiet at work, but it's still soon enough after the hectic activity of deadline that I'm enjoying the lull -- rested, not bored. And now the weekend is here, and soon I'll go home and cook dinner with my beautiful wife, and sit on our couch, perhaps have a little wine, and unwind from the week's depredations. Tomorrow we'll rise whenever we like and then stroll down toward the lake, to the clustered white awnings of the farmer's market, and we'll buy fresh apple cider and maybe some bread or fresh fruit. Then we'll head down toward the cafe, maybe sit outside if it's sunny and warm enough, and have a big cheap yummy breakfast. Then back up the hill toward home and an afternoon of writing, reading, working in the sunlight that falls through all our big windows... I live for days like that. Life is really good.

(Whoa, there was a little earthquake just now -- I don't think I'll ever get used to those. If it's big enough to notice, it impresses me.)

Hope you're all having beautiful days.
