Well, I've had a busy internet day.

First I hit Northwest Airlines to buy my Christmas plane ticket (I had a sale voucher, so it was pretty cheap). Then I hit another site I can't name to do something I can't say because it was for a present and the person whose present it is reads this blog. Suffice to say it took a long time because the site was very slow and I had to find something to replace another element of this thing that had been discontinued. Then I hopped over to New York City Ballet to investigate Nutcracker tickets; Susan and I decided last night that we were going to go to a performance with maybe some of our roommates and/or coworkers if they are interested.

It was really fun to hang out with Susan last night. It was just a spur of the moment thing; she wanted to go to the Palisades Mall, and I happened to call her just to talk right as she was thinking about calling me to see if I wanted to go. But we bought her some new dress shoes at DSW and a new black purse at Charlotte Russe (for $10!) and I got some nice brown pants at the Gap (for $20!) and some other thing I can again not specify further because it is Christmas-present oriented. We also ate some suprisingly good Mexican at this place in the food court called Desert Moon Cafe -- it's supposed to be Arizona style Mexican, and it's a bit more expensive than regular fast food but not as much as a real restaurant (think of it like the Panera Bread of Mexican). And at Charlotte Russe we tried on some fancy dresses just for the heck of it. A couple of them were really cute, but we couldn't justify the expense for what were basically cocktail dresses when we don't have any place to wear them. (Yeah, I know, the ballet, but it's going to be a lot colder than slinky dress and strappy shoe weather.) Anyway, it was fun. We won't have a lot more opportunities to have spontaneous visits, since Susan is leaving Jan. 20th for places south of here, and I'll be gone almost a month of that time if you total up my Thanksgiving and Christmas Tulsa time. (Cue Eric Clapton ) So, as we are nearing Thanksgiving, I am very, very thankful for yesterday evening.
