2005-03-05 4:03 PM I am a Chinese Shar-Pei Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (0) At least, according to this, I am. (You have to hit the "game" link on the left.) I even went back and changed a few answers I wasn't so sure about and got the same thing. Anyway, life has been less annoying this week -- aside from the weather, which deserves some sort of "hell freezing over" comment I don't want to put together right now. (Everyday they forecasted a high of 40; I don't think it actually got that "warm" once. No wonder I always get homesick this time of year.) There were baseball highlights on the news, people. Baseball! It really is spring somewhere! And I got an amazingly good deal on tickets to see the Paul Taylor Dance Company thanks to my work. By the way, keep your ears open, Paul Taylor will be coming to a theater near you, as the company is performing in every state in celebration of their 50th anniversary. The schedule on the website only goes through May, and I don't see Oklahoma yet. But this is a great way to experience modern dance, even if you've never really seen it before. So, seeing the performance with Yan will be Part I of my birthday weekend. Part II will be the party I am throwing for myself on Saturday. So my friends will have to trek all the way out to notBayRidge (this is my new name for my neighborhood, since I haven't found two maps yet that have me in the same one, except they all seem to agree I'm just outside Bay Ridge) for once. The weather forecast is threatening snow -- snow! -- that weekend, but it doesn't seem to be a lot, so I'm going ahead. Plus, all the snow forecasts lately have been "oh it's going to blizzard, stay home" and then what we get is "um, we aren't even going to send out the snow removal trucks because it will melt off by the end of the day." My birthday's on Monday, and I did consider taking the day off, but it's going to be 38. So I think I'll wait until it warms up and take a random day to go to the park or even the beach if I wait long enough. Tomorrow I will be going to get my haircut. I think it's the first time in my life I've ever had the same person cut my hair two times in a row. I have a Girl Who Does My Hair! In the East Village, no less! Am I getting city-fied or what? (Now you should envision my brothers reading this and falling off their chairs laughing because "city-fied" made them remember remember I work in an area called "NoHo." Trust me, they are doing this. Right. Now.) Also, here is your weekly reminder to watch Veronica Mars. They are back in repeats until the end of the month, so now's a great time to catch up. If you have watched it, and like it, you might also want to help save the show. (It hasn't been canceled yet, but the ratings aren't great and the fan base is trying to make sure UPN and Viacom know the support is out there.)
