Just because you don't believe it, doesn't mean I didn't mean it. 277564 Curiosities served |

Be sure to play with the "Opaqueness" lever, it's really fun. And I love how the "brush" changes depending on what size you pick. So, if you throw a birthday party and nobody comes is it still a party? I thought for a little while last night that I was going to have to answer that question (with an emphatic NO), but thank goodness Zan and J1 showed up. I knew it was going to be a small party because, thanks to my impeccable sense of timing I managed to pick the one weekend everyone had trips home/family obligations/opera tickets/other friends in crisis, but I was expecting about 5-7 people, which is not what I got. Yan is off the hook because she had an emergency and called (and besides we hung out Friday night) but two people who shall remain nameless are not in my good list right now, since they even emailed me that they were coming as late as 4:30 yesterday afternoon and I have yet to hear from them. I'm actually not sure whether to be annoyed or worried, since I know they had to come a long way on the subway and it really isn't like them to say they are coming and then not show up without calling. More cake for me, I guess. (And what a cake -- a chocolate mousse cake from a dessert bakery a couple of blocks from here. It is soooo good.) But we had fun anyway, we played Trivial Pursuit (I won). The funny thing was two of the sports questions we got really early on had to do with OU football -- one was the first question I got in the game!-- so Zan wanted to know if I stacked the deck (she got the other one, and missed it, because she isn't a big sports person). The REALLY funny thing is later, Zan got the only sports question all night that I didn't know the answer to, and probably couldn't have even guessed right if I tried. It was about hockey and not recent hockey (the answer was Bobby Orr) -- and Zan said she only guessed him because she's had a Trivial Pursuit question about him before. Hmmm... perhaps whoever is writing the sports questions needs to mix it up a bit more. Oh, and since I know my brothers are wondering about they-know-who -- he's the "family obligations" part of the above paragraph. Give it up already.
