2006-05-30 10:25 PM Three Days of Subways Plus Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (0) A little numerical representation of my weekend (which was lovely, though I'm ruing the consequences a little right now):
5 Boroughs (yup, that's all of them): a Queens wedding, dinner in Manhattan, a birthday party in Brooklyn, baseball game in the Bronx, and beach time on Staten Island. To which, everyone who lives in the city has responded -- "there's a beach on Staten Island?" No wonder they have an inferiority complex. 2 Puffy Feet after a day of walking in high heels followed by two days of walking in flip-flops. 3 SLC Alumni that I rarely see who made it to the wedding, including Crazy Tree and J2, whose awesomeness I had completely forgotten. 1 Legend established by way of Crazy Tree's delivery of the Longest and Best Best Man Toast EVER. Numerous Patches of Sunburn on my arms due to poor application of sunblock. Oops. 1 Piece of Red Velvet Cake had at Yan's party. Homemade by one of her friends from the yoga studio. (Many of the partygoers, including the cake maker, had never heard of Red Velvet cake before. I assume these were her non-Midwest/Southern friends.) 11 Total Runs scored in the Yankees-Royals game, which looked like a blowout early, but was made interesting by the Royals climbing back to a 6-5 score before Rivera shut them down. Also overheard: "If we got rid of A-Rod, could we go back to $2.00 beers?" 3 Days I wished I had put the air conditioner up before the weekend. Almost 90 in May is sort of ominous where the rest of the summer is concerned. 6th place: where my fantasy baseball team is now. At least that's the only part of my weekend that was disappointing.
