One: That I actually found time to write a blog entry. Now that New Boss has taken up residence in the office, I have more work to do (and when I do get bored I have been pursuing my new obsession with these puzzles).

Two: We had a tornado yesterday! It touched down about twenty blocks from my apartment, which, ironically, makes it the closest I've ever been to a tornado that is actually on the ground. (The closest I've been to a tornado, period, is the one that went over the top of my elementary school in third grade, but it wasn't on the ground at the time.) My first thought on leaving my apartment yesterday morning was : "What's that crime scene tape doing in front of the building?" The second: "I don't think it's safe to leave that tree on top of those cars like that."

Three: Rick Ankiel will be starting in the outfield for St. Louis today! (Although the downside is, his call-up comes because some kind of "non-baseball illness" is sidelining Spiezio. I hope it isn't as serious as the vague description makes it sound.) I guess I need a new subtitle, but it might take me a while to think of a good one. I'm just hopeful that he will still be with the team when I redeem my rainout Mets tickets in late September.
