2007-11-12 4:59 PM Throwing in the Towel Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) Yeah, so the NaNoWriMo thing is not so much happening this year. There are many reasons for this -- I didn't have a very detailed story idea this year, I actually got more interested in finishing the Novel-Type Project than in need of a break, working the Marathon kept me from getting a good first weekend head start -- but the main reason is just that work is absolutely crazy right now and I'm stressed out enough between that, wrapping up P-boz for the year, and prepping for Thanksgiving travel madness(not to mention the two major dental procedures I'm now facing, after I had my check-up at the dentist last week) and the logical thing to let go is the one thing that no one but me cares about. (I think I may have just set a new blog record for longest sentence, there.)
Just so this is not a totally depressing entry, I would like to mention that I have seen someone literally throw in a towel before. When Married Brother was wrestling in high school, if a coach wanted to call timeout in a match they would throw a rolled up towel (a specially designated one, not just any old towel that happened to be lying around) at the official to get his attention. I just always found that kind of appropriate. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
