Music: Reagan Youth TV/Movie: Dilbert Link o' the Day: girasolcollectables.com So sad... I received a rejection from F& SF in the mail yesterday. But it wasn’t all bad--at least if my rejectomancy mojo is accurate. Consider that the rejection took a month to arrive, and that the letter was written by Gordon (who appeared to have read the entire story) and not JJA, I might postulate that the story was an “almost-sold”. Maybe not as almost as a previously-submitted story which likewise spent a surprisingly long time in F&Sf’s hands and garnered another personal note from Gordon, but at least it wasn’t rejected in one of JJA’s week-long-turnarounds. So I’ll take comfort and encouragement from that, and continue to write stories and submit them. * * * Speaking of writing, I’ve been talking about a mystery short I’ve been cobbling together. I’ve since added a creepy murder story to that as well. A sort of half-horror, half-slipstream, half-mystery thing. Like the other story, it’s half-written. Now I just have to do the hard part and finish them. But hey--it’s Friday, innit? FRIDAY!!! Woot! The SFWA Bulletin will be sitting at the printers by early this afternoon, so until it’s proofing time, that’s out of my hair. I have some Bearmanor projects to work on, even starting tonight. No slacking on guys who pay me in advance. And our apartment (particularly my office) needs some cleaning. I still haven’t made room for my new desk, plus we’re expecting a pickup truckload of stuff when Pretty Maggie’s mother next visits. So the weekend doth come, and I, as usual, have a lot planned, of which I’ll feel accomplished if I manage to get to half of it. And this weekend especially seeings how the Man is robbing me of an hour’s sleep. (rant, rant, drool, etc.) * * * I mentioned recently Wildside Press and their reprints. In the interest of fairplay for fictionmaggers, today’s link goes to a site that provides a good number of pulp replicas (and who, I’ve learned, make sure that rights are properly established and monies paid where appropriate). Check out girasolcollectables.com. Cheers! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
