Music: random Jpop TV/Movie: Futurama Link o' the Day: The Slush God Speaketh The news of the day is that I’ve recently placed three pieces of flash fiction with the anthology SMALL BITES. All proceeds to go to the Charles Grant Medical Fund. The theme of the anthology is Things That Eat People, and broken down into three categories: Zombies, Animal Attacks, and Were-creatures. I went and created three linked stories--which apparently was a first for them. In any case, when the anthology and my story, collectively entitled “Servez l”Homme,” comes out, I’ll be sure to let y’all know. Bonus Points: What’s the joke behind the title, “Servez L’Homme”? Double Bonus Points: In part one, subtitled “Le Zombie,” I give the zombie the name of Tucker. Why would I do that? Anyway, I’m pleased. Let’s hope this breaks a bit of a dry spell in sales. * * * Noreascon doth quickly approach, and I’m still trying to find a room. I had an e-mail from someone with a smoking room in the Sheraton, but I’ve not heard from that person since. I hope they get back to me. It’d be the perfect room (on a party floor, and everything). * * * After dealing with the frustrations heaped upon me by sff.net’s quirky mail server yesterday, it’s back to work. Lots to do. Books and magazines to get to printers. All that stuff. So on with the link for the day--I don’t recall if I’ve offered this one yet, but to anyone who has ever been interested in how the mind of a slush reader works, allow me to direct you to: The Slush God Speaketh, a weblog by none other than john Jospeh Adams, slush reader for the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. Illuminating. Frightening. Wholesome fun in a mean sort of way. Enjoy! Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
