Music: Gaelic Storm TV/Movie: too much TV Link o' the Day: www.mance.com Sweet Daddy Gimp is in the hizzouse! Actually, I’ve had no luck in getting that name to stick, so for now I’ll simply refer to myself as SDG. Why? Well a couple of days after Christmas, I went and took a nasty fall on the ice. (Did you know that stuff can get slippery?) Long story short, after spending six hours in the emergency room with a leg swollen to the size of a redwood trunk, we determined that I did something bad to my knee. I then spent the following days on the couch popping pills and watching too much cable television. Thanks to Pretty Maggie's patient ministrations, a week later I’m hobbling around in a knee brace and on crutches. It seems to be getting better each day so I’m sure that in a week I’ll be down to a cane, and soon after I’ll be dancing like a Kossack. Watch out world. * * * So some may wonder where I’ve been and if a return to journalscape indicates some kind of New Years resolution. I resolved to never make another New Years resolution about ten years ago and, thus far, it’s been the only such resolution I’ve kept. That said, however, I would like to make a more concentrated effort to chime in here on a more regular basis. This decision is wholly independent of changes to the calendar. There is a lot of stuff that has happened since I last checked in.
I may or may not get to all of this over the coming days or weeks. Real life continues, and new stuff is always happening. The wobbly leg aside, me and mine are happy and healthy. What more could one ask for? * * * Link of the day: www.mance.com This site is run by Mance Grady, one of the top bodhran players in the world--and he's a local boy. While it's not the best bodhran instruction and info site around, it's a good site to see what a bodhran is, and to check out a little video file to see and hear a bodhran played by a master.
