Music: Tony Trischka TV/Movie: Dazed and Confused Link o' the Day: Nothing Lost Forever Not a bad day today, although off to a rocky start. Woke up--late--with a headache. Worked through it for a few hours before I gave up and took an aspirin nap. But even then, it was a productive morning. Got issue #179 of the SFWA Bulletin out the door and to the printer. Here's a look at the cover: After my nap I finished up this month's issue of Medicine and Health Rhode Island and sent that off to the editor. As soon as that was done I heard the *fwap fwap* of the mail arriving on the landing and went out to find the final edits to the Jan Wahl book waiting for me. That only took an hour and half and now that's sitting in the publisher's inbox. By tomorrow morning I'll have the final OK on that and then that's off to the printers. Setting them up. Knocking them down. Then it's the Baby Peggy book for the rest of the week before Pretty Maggie and I head out for a few days to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. By the time we get back, I hope to have the index for the Moonjean book so that can then go out to the printer. Projects coming up: A Mel Simons interview book and a 2-volume set on the TV show The Professionals. So I'm all about work this week. But it's paying off. Tonight I'll take it easy and go get the oil changed on the car. And tomorrow night...Biden vs. Palin! Oh, it's gonna be a fun night. (Note to self: make popcorn.) -=-=-=-=-=-=- Today's link goes to a webpage promoting the book Nothing Lost Forever, a book I worked on a while back about the films of Tom Schiller--many of which were featured on Saturday Night Live. This was an especially fun project for me to be a part as I'm a huge fan of the early days of SNL. This is Bill Murray at a book signing following its release. And here's a quote from Robert Smigel: “This book captures Tom’s giddy, enchanting creative spirit. Watching Schiller play 75’s on the gramophone in his office, a 1940s version of Pee-wee’s Playhouse, is one of my favorite memories of SNL. You’d visit for the quaint escape and come out remembering why you love to create comedy.” So if you're an SNL fan, you may want to check this out. Cheers!
