Music: NPR's offerings this morning TV/Movie: Se7en Link o' the Day: the House of Frankenstein Wax Museum and the Lake George Steamboat Company And as Friday arrives, Pretty Maggie and I get that much closer to our one year anniversary. It's been a great year for marriage. And I'm looking forward to countless years of the same spread out ahead of us. I think we got awful lucky with each other. I've just about cleared my board for work this week so I can enjoy the weekend without stress. The Baby Peggy job is still in the works, but the hard part is done. Now it's just some assembly. I have one cover to work on, and a fairly straightforward book project coming up which I'm not going to do much with until next week besides making sure I have the pieces I need. I have a bunch of things to do today. Little chores, but they add up. Plus, friends of ours who have been living in Alaska the past couple of years are now back in Providence again. We're hoping to see them as soon as they've settled in. -=-=-=-=-=- I won't go on o'ermuch regarding last night's vice presidential debate. We watched it on CNN because the audience response meter intrigued me. While Palin handled herself better than I thought she would, I still don't think she's even close to being vice presidential material (let alone presidential). Biden, on the other hand, came across quite strong, and proved that he was more than capable of the job. Where Palin came off, at times, as vapid and smarmy, Biden remained serious and sincere. Palin didn't seem to respect the debate process or forum--answering whatever she felt like without apology or even acknowledgement of some of the questions, Biden knew what he was doing and, I felt, treated the forum with more respect. Am I biased? Of course I am. Does that mean I'm wrong? hehe. Chew that over. But more importantly--if you watched the debates yourselves--I think it's worth taking the time to really think over what you saw and heard--then come up with your own opinions and act on them. See you on the other side. -=-=-=-=-=- I've got "Ashoken's Farewell" pretty much down. I'll miss this week's session at Ward's, but I'll be there for the next one, and armed with new tunes. -=-=-=-=-=-=- And I'm working on some stories, which is good. -=-=-=-=-=-=- Today's link doth taketh you to...the House of Frankenstein Wax Museum and the Lake George Steamboat Company. These are two of the touristy places we've been to on past visits to Lake George. The wax museum has a crazy whirling tunnel that induces vertigo without the hassle of downing a fifth of rotgut. The boat tours are nicely scenic. Lake George is also home to the world's oldest miniature golf course. We may make another visit to that. And maybe someday I'll win a game. Until then... Cheers!
