For the record, I liked, Titan A.E. I know it's fashionable to hate certain things, and Titan A.E. is often on said list, but c'mon. If you're a hater, sit down and watch it the next time it's on cable. Pull the blinds down, lock the door. No one has to know. Don't try to see it as a kid's movie or an adult's movie. Don't get all niggly about realism. If you were that devoted to realism you wouldn't be wearing Sujperman underwear right now. Don't approach it with any expectations other than a good skiffy sort of romp. I won't even suggest you give it extra credit for pushing the animation envelope (for the time). Or that Ben Edlund and Joss Whedon were in on the script.

Just watch the damn thing, then write your hate mail.

It's no sillier than Farscape. And a lot less silly than Star Trek V.

p.s. Feel free to hate the way the movie was promoted.

What kind of meat do you get from a cow whose left legs are shorter than its right legs?

Lean.

I have no idea why I made that joke up, if someone else already has, or why I think it's funny. I should get more sleep.

Oh, hey! I did! I actually overslept a little this morning--by an hour or so. If this were a day I had a lot on my plate, I'd be more concerned, but freelance-wise it's a light day. Most of today is actually going to be spent in a more analog sort of way. Presents to wrap. Living room to shift around a bit. I might even try the rice pudding recipe again.

I tried making rice pudding for the first time yesterday. For a first-time effort, it came out rather well. A slight technical glitch with the burner threw off the timing, and the recipe I called for uses more cinnamon than the traditional version I see at my aunt-in-law's house on Xmas eve. As I'm making the pudding this year for the annual dinner, I want it to come out not just good, but very good--so I'm going to take another stab at it today before I make the official batch next week.

Next week. Good lordy loo. I have to finish my shopping. And the wrapping... the wrapping!

Thank god I've got some writing to work on as well. Something to distract me.

Today's link visits DenisKitchen.com - home of the current incarnation of the beloved Kitchen Sink Press. Operating on a smaller scale now, but still operating, Denis Kitchen has the line on some great comics classics--Kurtzman, Crumb, Eisner, Capp, and more. Explore around, you might be surprised who else Kitchen published.

Cheers!
