Link o' the Day: How to Skin a Rabbit

Like a lot of other places the past day or two, we got hit with an unfair amount of snow for what is officially March. What was worse for us was that it was a driving sort of snow which piled snow in deep drifts around our house. The steps leading from our porch to the sidewalk weren't steps, but a precarious hill of white where one didn't know where our how to step, and even if one did make it to the sidewalk, you'd be knee-deep and not even to the plowed gutter yet.

The city did a lousy job of plowing--when they finally got around to plowing. But we presevered. Every year the snow seems like a surprise, you'd think after 40 years I'd get it. Winter...it snows in winter. Selective amnesia is what keeps the population spread around the country rather than jammed into southern California or somesuch place. It's the only way I can explain people who live in tornado country. Or New Orleans. In extreme cases, it explains why people live in crappy climates year-round like deserts and tundras. Every day they wake up and must be "Hey! It's a real scorcher today!" or "Dang! The ground is still frozen solid!"

Good times.

The TumbleTap webpage is just about up. In a day or two you should be able to get it by going to tumbletap.com, but for now you can see a preview by visiting www.johnteehan.com/tumbletap.

Rumor has it... Alan Moore's The Watchmen graphic novel (and now movie) was originally inspired by old Looney Tunes cartoons. Each major character in The Watchmen corresponds to a different Looney Tunes character, The Comedian is Foghorn Leghorn (a blowhard), Nite Owl is Daffy Duck (comic relief/fall guy), Rorscach is Porky Pig (with the stutter), The Silk Spectre is Tweety Bird (living in a gilded cage), Ozymandias is Elmer Fudd (a failed mass murderer), and Dr. Manhattan is, of course, Bugs Bunny.

And speaking of bunnies... you never know when the zombie revolution will come and society will collapse. If such a time comes, you're going to have to fend for yourself. Here's a link on How to Skin a Rabbit. (Warning: not for folks who don't like knowing where their food comes from.)

Cheers!
