We were at an old friend of Doug's childhood home this evening for a visitation (her mother passed away last week). We wanted to take Roman to meet the friend and her fiance, and generally maybe bring some adorable cheer in this sad time for them. Well, Roman was more than up to the task! He TODDLED!

He has been taking short steps between furniture and Doug and I for a few days. Even this morning, he walked from me about 4-5 steps out toward a toy, and then "boom" on his bum. Little did we know he was such a showoff... he was playing with a 7-month-old also at the house, turned around, and walked across the foyer to Doug and I! Then he walked across the living room to explore! Walked across the foyer again! Took my hand (one-handed now, thank you!) and after a few steps, let go and continued on his merry way to the closest stranger he could find. :)

Toddling! Wow! Our jaws were on the floor half the time. We didn't know he had all this in him! So tomorrow I'm going out and buying safety gates for the rest of the house, cuz I don't think we're going to be able to catch him anymore!
