Roman can successfully climb down the stairs now!
-------------------
Did an adoption presentation last night. It was interesting... there was practically more families with kids there than people to listen. Well, maybe equally half and half. There were 3 agencies invited. I like the idea of doing presentations, but in observation, there were too MANY presentations. Each agency had 2 families; we had been given an outline to follow to cover details; and then when we got there, we were told to make it brief. Following the example of the families that went before us, we cut out about half of what we were GOING to say.

But then... it seemed that we weren't giving any real information. The director of Frank was there, and he was the only one who really explained the process for the families there. We families were supposed to address process, brief details of the trip, and then adjustments after we got home. Concerns or expectations, that kind of thing. But most families just said "it was so great, we loved it, our agency was wonderful, blah blah blah...."

There was a woman who took out her notes on her adoption from China. I thought, cool, here is some real information. She started going on and on about the culture, the food, her *feelings* about everything, about how long the plane flight was, blah blah.

So if we do it again, I'm holding my own - I'm going to say our entire presentation, even if no one else does - because we had real information. If I was looking for information at this meeting last night, I would have been awfully disappointed.
