I took Roman with me to vote today, as we had a sentimental favorite running for City Council and a bus issue to decide here. Roman was absolutely hilarious. The woman who took my ballot looked ever so slightly like his Baba, and that's what he called her. She laughed and I explained that she looked like my mother. Then Roman turned to the man sitting at the end of the table tabulating the little sheets. He pointed at Tyrone (so said his nametag) and said, "Grandpa!"

I kept most of my insane laughter inside while I told Roman he was silly - a 40-something muscular black man did not look like his Grandpa. What finally burst the "laughter dams" in me was when Tyrone grinned, and with a wink at me said, "no... I'm too young!"
