Working on: Heading to bed.

We have caught Roman laughing to himself in the backseat - we guess he's making faces in the mirror. He also will giggle and laugh at the television now, even things he's watched many times before. Well, this morning he played his first "trick" on me.

He started calling out for Daddy and Mama when he heard the water run in the bathroom. I waited awhile to go get him, as he didn't sound distressed. Well, about 15 minutes later I wandered over to his door and opened it, expecting to see him standing up waiting. All was quiet. I squinted into the dark to see if he was sleeping, when all the sudden - "HI!" - Roman shouted the word and then burst into laughter. I told him he tricked me, he scared me, and he just kept giggling.

Later, when I told Daddy the story and got to the part about Roman shouting out "hi," Roman started giggling again! It's very clear that his little sense of humor is starting to develop. It's great!

And, by the way, Roman got such a glowing report from daycare today (even without going to Miss Katie's) and followed directions so well at home, that we went for ice cream after dinner. He chose "pink one" (strawberry). He even wandered over and threw away his cup when he was all done. Amazing child.
