79 seems to be Roman's magic number. I'm not sure where he got it from; taking temperature originally, I think. That's his number for everything now - he'll look at a pricetag and say "79!" Steps on a scale, looks down - "79." It's pretty cute.

We bought new snow boots today, hearing that there is snow on the way for Wednesday night. He was mostly cooperative, which was a joy. I let him ring all the bells in the Christmas section of Target as a reward. :)

Otherwise, we played trains tonight. He really likes having the tracks on two levels, so I've been using our "risers" a lot to lay out lots of curves, with roads going underneath as well.

Lastly, at school we've decided to put a twist on the mock elections usually done in the yearbook ("best dressed" kind of stuff). We haven't done it in years and our staff was still uncomfortable with kids voting for kids, so they're voting on staff members! We teachers did a round-1 vote and each category was narrowed down to 3 teachers. Today the 8th graders voted for final. I was in the category for "most likely to be president if (s)he wasn't teaching at West." Unfortunately, my competition was raging Republican and my mentee, Patrick; and our principal! We have to wait until the yearbook comes out before we can know!
