2006-08-17 12:28 AM Book Count With exactly 2 months left in my "biblioyear", I am at 85 books read. My goal this year was 150. Last year I managed 100, no problem, but this one might be a little more difficult. Maybe I should change it to 125, or 'where I end up at the end of the year'. We'll see.
In order to reach my goal I would have to read 1.083333333333333333333333 books a day. It's not impossible, just extremely difficult. However, there have actually been a few days when I have read 2 books, and even started on a third. I read pretty quickly. My problem this year was that there was a small stretch of time, in the beginning of the summer, when I just didn't feel like reading, or writing, or having anything to do with words on paper. If I went for 125 books in a year I would have to read .066666666666666 books a day. That does make it easier to skip a day and double up on others. Has anyone else tried reading a bunch of books in any given time? Got any suggestions on titles or authors? Let me know. I'm definitely more of a fiction reader, unless it's something immensely fascinating. As lame as it sounds, I would rather watch a documentary, tv show, movie, etc. rather than read about it. I like reading fiction because I can take the authors words and transform them into my own ideas of what characters look like, what places look like, etc. And if anyone is interested, I do keep a list of all the books I have read since starting on my undertakings in 2004.
